Epilepsy and treatments

Tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal) is treated with Carbamazepine, Lamotrigine, and Sodium Valproate.

Absense seizures (Petit mal) is treated with Ethosuximide and Sodium Valproate.

Myoclonic seizure is treated with Sodium Valproate and Clonazepam.

Atypical absence, atonic and tonic seizures are treated with Sodium Valproate, Lamotrigine and Clonazepam.

The treatment of status epilepticus includes Phenytoin sodium, Lorazepam and Clonazepam.

Other anti-epileptic medicines include Gabapentin and Levetiracetam.
